Elk Horn Fire Department Golf Tournament set for Saturday

ELK HORN - To help raise funds for the Elk Horn Fire Department, officials are holding the Elk Horn Fire Deparment Seventh Annual Golf Tournament this Saturday. According to organizers, funds from the tournament will help purchase a new wild land fire truck.
The Four Man Best Ball Tournament will be held on Saturday at the Greenbrier Golf Club, which is located between Exira and Audubon, and cost per team is $120. There will be a morning tee time at 8 a.m., and afternoon tee time at 1 p.m. There will be a payout for up to three flights, a $1,000 in door and pin prizes given away and raffles for individuals to participate in during the tournament. Lunch will also be available, and no outside coolers or alcohol will be allowed at the course. Individuals who are interested in participating in the tournament are asked to call Darcy Ring to register at 712-249-6669.
Organizers said business officials from Atlantic, Marne, Walnut, Exira, Audubon, Harlan, Kimballton and Elk Horn, have donated prizes or gift certificates for the tournament, and added, "It is really fantastic that in these hard economic times that local communities have come together in support of our Volunteer Fire Department." They also said golfers from all the above cities are participating as well as a team from Des Moines, and add, "this is fun tournament and for a fantastic cause!"
